Set Up a Custom Shop Category with Color Formatting

Edit the Shop Configuration

Open the file at /config/mmoecon/MMOShop.json in a text editor. Locate the "categories" array and add a new category object. Each category needs:

  • "name": The display name (supports Minecraft color codes like &6 for gold or &l for bold)
  • "representativeItem": The item shown as the category icon in the menu
  • "items": An array of items players can buy or sell

Add Items to Your Category

Inside the "items" array, create objects with:

  • "id": The item's namespace and name (e.g., minecraft:diamond or modname:custom_item)
  • "buyPrice": What players pay to buy from the shop (optional if sell-only)
  • "sellPrice": What players receive when selling to the shop (optional if buy-only)

Example with color formatting:

`json

{

"name": "&6&lPrecious Metals",

"representativeItem": "minecraft:gold_ingot",

"items": [

{"id": "minecraft:gold_ingot", "buyPrice": 50.0, "sellPrice": 40.0},

{"id": "minecraft:iron_ingot", "buyPrice": 25.0, "sellPrice": 20.0}

]

}

`

Save the file and run /shop reload in-game to apply changes.
