Understand Mixin Injection Points in Crash Reports
What Mixins Tell You
Each mixin entry shows where a mod injected code into Minecraft. The class name (like net.minecraft.class_465) is the target, and the mixin name hints at what was changed (e.g., AbstractContainerScreenMixin modifies container screens).
Reading Mixin Information
The format is:
`
net.minecraft.class_XXX: mod.package.mixin.ClassName (modname.mixins.json)
`
- Class name: The Minecraft feature being modified
- Mixin class: The mod's code doing the modification
- JSON file: Which mod configuration file registered this mixin
Using This Information
When a crash happens near a specific feature:
1. Identify what was happening (opening a screen, placing a block, etc.)
2. Search the Mixins in Stacktrace for related class names
3. The mods listed are the ones that modified that feature
4. If the feature is broken, one of these mods likely caused it
This narrows your suspect list from dozens of mods to just a few, making diagnosis much faster than traditional trial-and-error.
