Optimize Shader Performance on Low-End PCs
Disable Expensive Effects
MiniatureXL Shaders is designed for weak computers, but you can optimize further. Open shader settings and disable or reduce: sunrays, water reflections, and shadow quality. These have the largest performance impact.
Reduce Render Distance and Quality
Lower your render distance in video settings—this affects shader performance more than vanilla rendering. Reduce shadow resolution or disable soft shadows if frame rate drops significantly.
Adjust Bloom and Lighting
Turn down bloom intensity and colored light spread. These effects are beautiful but computationally expensive. Even modest reductions can improve frame rates without losing the shader's character.
Disable Foliage Movement
If available, toggle off animated foliage. Leaf and grass animation adds visual polish but requires extra processing. Disabling it frees up resources for other effects.
Monitor Frame Rate
Use F3 debug screen to watch your FPS while making changes. Test in different environments—forests stress shaders more than open plains. Make incremental adjustments until you find a balance between visuals and performance.
Verify Compatibility
Ensure you're using the latest shader version and that Voxy (if installed) isn't conflicting with your settings.
