Parse a message with placeholders for yourself

Using the parse command

The /miniplaceholders parse command lets you test how placeholders are replaced in real-time. This is useful for checking placeholder syntax before using them in plugins or scripts.

Steps

1. Open your chat window

2. Type the command:

`

/miniplaceholders parse me "[your message with placeholders here]"

`

3. Replace [your message with placeholders here] with your actual message

4. Include any placeholders you want to test — they use the MiniMessage format

5. Press Enter to execute

The server will parse your message and display the result in chat, showing you exactly how the placeholders are replaced. This helps you verify that your placeholder syntax is correct and that values are being substituted as expected.

Tips

  • Use quotes around your message to ensure the entire string is treated as one argument
  • Check the mod's placeholder documentation to see which placeholders are available on your server
  • If a placeholder doesn't resolve, it may not be registered or may have incorrect syntax
