Navigating Grassy Terrain Safely
Identifying Grass Blocks
Grass blocks are the green-topped blocks found naturally in most biomes. They're deadly to touch, so you must learn to recognize and avoid them. Look for the distinctive grass texture on top of dirt blocks.
Safe Navigation Strategies
Walk only on non-grass surfaces: stone, dirt (without grass), sand, gravel, wood, and other solid blocks. When crossing grassy areas, build a temporary bridge using safe blocks above or around the grass. You can also dig downward to reach stone or other safe layers beneath the surface.
Building Safe Pathways
Create permanent routes through dangerous areas by placing blocks in a line that avoids grass entirely. Elevated walkways work well—build them high enough that you won't accidentally step on grass below. Alternatively, tunnel underground through stone to bypass grassy biomes completely.
Quick Escapes
If you find yourself surrounded by grass, jump to nearby safe blocks or build upward rapidly. Never panic and jump randomly, as you might land on grass. Always have building blocks in your hotbar for emergency situations.
