Accessing Rooftops and Using Them as Vantage Points
Finding Roof Access
Most buildings with elevators provide rooftop access. Enter the building, locate the elevator in the lobby, and ride it to the top floor. From there, look for stairs, ladders, or open passages leading to the roof. Not every building may have accessible rooftops, so try several buildings to find ones that do.
What You'll Find on Roofs
Rooftops offer unobstructed views across Midtown Manhattan. From this vantage point, you can see the full scale of the surrounding buildings, street layouts, and the overall city geography. Water towers, air conditioning units, and other rooftop equipment add realistic detail.
Using Rooftops for Navigation
Rooftops are excellent for orientation. Climb to the top of a tall building and survey the area to plan your next exploration. Identify clusters of buildings, major streets, and landmarks. This helps you understand which areas you've visited and where to go next.
Safety and Exploration
Be careful near roof edges. Use rooftops as rest points during your exploration, and return to ground level via the elevator to continue walking the streets.
