How to Use Touchscreen Controls and the On-Screen Button Indicator
Enabling touch controls
Midnight Controls adds touchscreen support so you can play on a touch device or a laptop with a touch display. Enable touch controls in the mod's settings. Once active, on-screen buttons appear for movement, jumping, attacking, and opening menus, similar to the Bedrock Edition layout.
Using the button indicator
The toggleable button indicator shows which physical or on-screen button performs each action. Turn it on in settings if you are learning the layout or using a new controller. It overlays small labels on the screen so you always know what to press.
Practical tips
1. Adjust the size and position of touch buttons if they overlap or are hard to reach.
2. Increase the interaction radius option if you struggle to hit blocks and entities on a small screen.
3. Combine touch movement with a connected controller if you prefer one hand on each.
4. Turn the indicator off once you have memorized the layout to keep the screen clean.
Touch and controller input can coexist, so you can switch between them mid-session depending on what is most comfortable.
