How to Connect and Set Up a Controller in Midnight Controls
Connecting your controller
Midnight Controls detects most common gamepads automatically once they are connected to your computer. Pair your controller through your operating system first (Bluetooth or USB), then launch Minecraft. The mod reads the controller through GLFW, so if the game was already running when you paired it, you may need to restart the game for it to appear.
Supported families include DualShock, DualSense, Xbox, and Switch Pro style controllers. If your pad is not recognized, you can still map it manually.
Verifying and adjusting the setup
1. Open the Midnight Controls settings from the controls screen or its own config menu.
2. Check that your controller is listed and that button presses register in the on-screen indicator.
3. Toggle the button indicator on if you want a Bedrock-style overlay showing which buttons do what.
4. Adjust stick deadzones and sensitivity if the
camera drifts or feels
too fast.
5. If a button does nothing, open the button binding list and remap it.
Once movement, looking, and the main action buttons respond, you are ready to play. Revisit these settings any time a new controller is plugged in, since mappings are stored per controller type.
