Reduce Eye Strain When Playing Long Sessions
Lower Saturation and Brightness
Miasma Shaders' vibrant, toxic colors are visually intense. After extended play, this can cause fatigue:
- Reduce color saturation — dial back the intensity of greens, purples, and other alien hues
- Lower overall brightness — bright cel-shaded worlds can be harsh on the eyes
- Decrease bloom and glow effects — these create bright halos that contribute to eye strain
Adjust Contrast Settings
High contrast between outlines and blocks can be tiring:
- Soften outline darkness — lighter outlines are less jarring
- Reduce edge detection intensity — fewer visible edges mean less visual noise
Modify Lighting Behavior
- Reduce ambient light intensity — less overall illumination is easier on the eyes during long sessions
- Lower shadow contrast — softer shadows create a gentler visual experience
- Disable or minimize light rays — god-rays add atmosphere but can feel overwhelming
Take Regular Breaks
Even with adjustments, take breaks every 20–30 minutes. Look away from the screen and focus on distant objects to rest your eyes.
Consider Time of Day
Play during in-game night or in caves where lighting is naturally softer, reducing the intensity of the shader's effects.
