Adjust Cel-Shading Intensity and Outline Thickness
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu while in-game. This is typically found in Video Settings > Shaders > Shader Options, though the exact path depends on your launcher.
Customize Outline Appearance
Look for settings related to "Outline," "Edge Detection," or "Cel-Shading Intensity." These controls let you:
- Increase or decrease outline thickness — thicker lines create a more dramatic comic-book effect, while thinner lines preserve more detail
- Adjust outline darkness — darker outlines make the world feel more alien and hostile; lighter outlines are subtler
- Toggle outline on specific elements — some versions allow you to enable outlines only on mobs, blocks, or both
Fine-Tune Color Saturation
Find saturation or color intensity sliders. Miasma Shaders' toxic aesthetic works best with high saturation, but you can dial it back if the world feels overwhelming. Lower saturation creates a more muted, eerie tone.
Test Your Changes
Walk around your world after each adjustment. The effect is most visible at different times of day and in different biomes. Revisit your base and familiar structures to see how the new settings change their appearance.
