How to Craft and Use a Paxel in Mekanism Tools

What a Paxel Does

A Paxel is a single tool that combines the functions of a pickaxe, axe, and shovel. Instead of carrying three tools, you carry one. Mekanism Tools adds Paxels for several materials, including Bronze, Lapis Lazuli, Osmium, Refined Glowstone, Diamond, Gold, Iron, and Netherite.

Crafting a Paxel

Open a crafting table and arrange your chosen material in a specific pattern. The exact layout uses the material in a shape that mirrors a combined tool. Once crafted, the Paxel inherits the mining level and durability of its base material — an Osmium Paxel mines what an Osmium Pickaxe can, and so on.

Using It Effectively

Right-click does nothing special by default; the Paxel is a standard mining tool. Left-click to break blocks. It will chop wood like an axe, dig dirt and sand like a shovel, and mine stone and ores like a pickaxe. This makes it ideal for exploration and caving where inventory space is tight.

Enchanting and Repair

Paxels accept the same enchantments as their component tools where applicable — Efficiency, Fortune, Silk Touch, Unbreaking, and Mending all work. Repair them in an anvil using the matching material ingot or gem, or rely on Mending. Because a Paxel has more combined utility than a single tool, Unbreaking and Mending are especially valuable on it.
