How to Build and Fuel a Bio-Generator for Early Power
Getting Started
Place the Bio-Generator down and connect it to your energy network with a cable or directly to a machine. Open its interface — you'll see a slot for burnable organic fuel and an internal energy buffer.
What to Feed It
Feed it Bioethanol (as a bucket or piped in as a fluid) for the best output. You can also burn many vanilla organics directly: saplings, seeds, wheat, carrots, potatoes, and similar plant matter. Bioethanol is far more efficient per unit, so once you have a way to produce it, switch over.
Producing Bioethanol
Bioethanol comes from a Pressurized Reaction Chamber (from base Mekanism) processing biomass with a small amount of water. Biomass itself is made in a Crusher or Enrichment Chamber from plant matter. Set up a small farm feeding a crusher feeding the PRC, then pipe the Bioethanol into your generator.
Practical Tips
- The generator only consumes fuel when it has somewhere to send power or a buffer to fill, so it won't waste fuel idling.
- Keep a buffer of Bioethanol in a tank nearby so the generator never starves mid-operation.
- For steady early-game power, chain two or three Bio-Generators together rather than one — they scale linearly with fuel input.
