How to Survive a Barbarian Wave Attack

Preparation Before Combat

Before barbarians arrive, position yourself near your gate and trap controls. Ensure you have a clear escape route to higher ground or defensive positions. Know where your nearest switch is located.

Initial Response

When barbarians appear, don't panic. Move toward your prepared defensive position. Close the gate immediately if enemies are approaching the main entrance. This buys you time to activate traps and plan your next move.

Active Defense Strategy

Use a combination of gate closure and trap activation. Close the gate to contain enemies, trigger arrow traps to damage them, then reopen strategically to advance or retreat. Never let barbarians surround you—use the castle's walls and rooms to your advantage.

Retreat and Regroup

If overwhelmed, fall back to higher castle levels or isolated rooms. Barbarians move slower through tight spaces. Use this to your advantage by leading them into trap zones or dead ends. Heal and restock before engaging the next wave.
