Start from the main entrance and work methodically through each section. Visit the ground floor rooms first, then climb to upper levels and towers. This prevents backtracking and ensures you don't miss hidden areas.

Clearing Barbarian Threats

As you explore, defeat any barbarians you encounter in each room. Clear one area completely before moving deeper into the castle. This prevents enemies from flanking you while you're investigating new spaces.

Checking Every Tower and Wing

The castle has multiple towers and wing sections. Don't skip areas that seem empty—check for hidden rooms, loot, or trap mechanisms. Climb to the highest points to get an overview of the fortress layout and spot areas you haven't visited yet.

Documenting Trap and Gate Locations

As you explore, note where each switch and control mechanism is located. This knowledge helps during combat when you need to quickly reach a trap trigger or gate control. Mark mentally which rooms connect to which defensive positions.
