How to Defend the Castle Gate from Barbarian Attacks

Positioning Yourself

The castle gate is your first line of defense. Stand near the gate mechanism where you have a clear view of the approaching barbarians. This position lets you monitor enemy movement while staying close to the controls.

Operating the Gate

Locate the gate switch inside the castle. Pull the lever or activate the switch to close the gate when barbarians approach. Keep the gate sealed while enemies are actively attacking. You can open it again once the immediate threat has passed or to lure enemies into a kill zone.

Combining Gate Control with Traps

For maximum effectiveness, close the gate to funnel barbarians into specific areas where your arrow traps are positioned. This forces enemies into predictable paths where the traps can deal damage.

Timing Your Actions

Watch for barbarian movement patterns. Close the gate just as they reach it, then activate nearby traps while they're trapped or confused. Reopen the gate only when you've eliminated the current wave or need to advance outside the fortress walls.
