Master Cutter Data Pack: Getting Started

What the Master Cutter Data Pack Does

The Master Cutter Data Pack expands the vanilla stonecutter into a general-purpose crafting station by adding over 500 new recipes. Instead of being limited to stone blocks, the stonecutter can now process wood, logs, stems, hyphae, bamboo, and many other materials.

To use it, place a stonecutter and open its interface as usual. The new recipes appear automatically in the menu, so no extra setup is required beyond installing the data pack.

Key recipe categories include:

  • Woodcutting – convert logs, wood, stems, and hyphae (including stripped variants) into planks, slabs, stairs, fences, doors, trapdoors, buttons, pressure plates, and signs.
  • Bamboo – turn bamboo blocks and stripped bamboo into planks, mosaics, slabs, stairs, and related blocks.
  • Enhanced stonecutting – cut deepslate and stone into their cobbled forms and other direct derivatives.
  • Recycling and un-crafting – break blocks back down into their base materials.
  • Variant switching – swap between variants of the same block, such as polished stone back to its base form.

Because everything runs through the stonecutter, you get exact, one-to-one conversions without needing a crafting table.
