Prevent Accidental Underbidding When Listing Items
Why Underbidding Happens
Underbidding occurs when you list an item for far less than its market value—usually by forgetting a zero or mistyping the price. This is one of the most common and costly mistakes in the Auction House.
How MarketGuard Stops It
1. When you attempt to list an item for sale, MarketGuard checks the price you entered
2. It compares your listing price against known market data for that item
3. If your price is significantly below the typical selling price, the mod blocks the listing
4. A warning appears in chat showing the item and how much you'd be losing
Double-Check Before Listing
- Always review the price you typed before confirming
- If MarketGuard blocks your listing, check your math
- Consider whether you're intentionally pricing low for a quick sale (use bypass if so)
- For valuable items, take extra care—a single zero makes a huge difference
The mod gives you a chance to catch these mistakes before they cost you coins. If you genuinely want to list below market price, you can bypass the warning, but MarketGuard ensures it's a conscious choice, not an accident.
