Maximizing Smite Damage in Combat
Stacking Damage Effectively
Smite adds holy magic damage on top of your weapon's physical damage. To maximize total damage output, focus on:
- Landing consistent hits: Smite only triggers on successful attacks, so positioning and timing matter
- Using the weapon's strengths: Heavy weapons deal more base damage per swing, amplifying the Smite bonus
- Managing stamina: Don't waste stamina on missed swings—plan your attacks carefully
Combat Strategy
Smite works best when you:
1. Close distance safely to your target
2. Time your swings to connect when the enemy is vulnerable
3. Use the weapon's reach and speed to your advantage
4. Chain hits together before backing away to recover stamina
The holy damage from Smite is particularly effective against undead and supernatural enemies, making these weapons excellent for themed encounters. Against regular mobs, the combined physical and magical damage still provides a significant advantage over standard weapons.
