Cooking Stews and Pot Pies for Long Adventures
Beef Stew and Beef Pot Pie are hearty meals that restore a lot of hunger and are ideal for long trips or boss fights. Both use barley and beef as base ingredients.
Beef Stew
1. Gather beef, barley, and vegetables (carrots, potatoes, or the mod's own vegetables).
2. Combine them in a cooking pot or the mod's stew recipe. Stews usually require a bowl per serving.
3. Cook the stew and portion it into bowls. Each bowl is a single serving.
Beef Pot Pie
1. Make a pie crust from flour and butter.
2. Prepare a beef-and-vegetable filling, similar to the stew but thicker.
3. Assemble the pot pie and bake it.
4. Slice the finished pie into Beef Pot Pie Slices for portable eating.
Both dishes benefit from having a barley farm and a cattle pen near your kitchen. Pot pie slices stack and travel well, while stew bowls do not stack as easily — so for expeditions, pot pie slices are usually the better choice. Cook in bulk before a big trip so you do not run out of food mid-adventure.
