Troubleshooting Missing or Broken Mod Settings Menus

Why Settings Menus Aren't Appearing

If a mod you've installed doesn't show a settings menu, or the menu crashes when you try to open it, MaLiLib API Mod may not be installed or may be incompatible with your other mods.

Steps to Fix Settings Menu Issues

1. Verify MaLiLib is in your mods folder – Check that the MaLiLib API file is present alongside your other mod files. It should load silently without appearing in any mod list.

2. Check mod compatibility – Ensure the mods requiring MaLiLib are compatible with your game version. Mismatched versions can prevent settings from loading.

3. Clear corrupted config files – If a settings menu crashes repeatedly, try deleting the corresponding config file from .minecraft/config and restart your game. MaLiLib will regenerate it with default settings.

4. Restart your game – After adding or updating MaLiLib, fully close and reopen Minecraft. The API needs to initialize when the game starts.

If settings menus still don't appear after these steps, the mod may not actually use the MaLiLib system—check the mod's documentation to confirm.
