Configuring Water and Shadow Quality
Access Water Settings
Open your shader configuration menu and navigate to the Water or Reflections section. This controls how water surfaces render, including wave animation, reflection quality, and transparency effects.
Adjust Water Visuals
Modify water wave intensity to make surfaces appear more dynamic or calmer. Increase reflection quality if your graphics card supports it for more detailed reflections of the sky and surrounding blocks. Transparency settings control how clearly you can see underwater terrain.
Configure Shadow Rendering
Locate the Shadows section in shader settings. Adjust shadow distance to control how far shadows render from your character. Increase shadow softness for gentler, more realistic shadows, or decrease it for sharper, more defined edges.
Balance Performance
Higher water and shadow quality demand more GPU resources. If you experience frame rate drops, reduce water reflection quality or shadow distance. Monitor your FPS while adjusting—find the sweet spot between visual quality and smooth gameplay.
Test in Different Environments
View water in lakes, rivers, and oceans to see how your settings affect large bodies. Check shadows in forests and near structures to ensure they look natural. Save your configuration once satisfied.
