Create a Full Server Backup Before Maintenance
Perform a Complete Server Backup
Before applying updates or making configuration changes during maintenance, back up your entire server including mods, configs, and world data.
1. Open your mod configuration or find the backup command
2. Execute the backup command (typically /maintenance backup or similar)
3. The mod will create a compressed archive containing your server folder
4.
5. Backups are usually stored in a dedicated backups folder within your server directory
6. Verify the backup file exists and has a reasonable file size
What Gets Backed Up
A full backup includes your world data, all mod files, configuration files, and plugin settings. This ensures you can restore your server to its current state if something goes wrong during maintenance.
Best Practices
Always create a backup before major updates or configuration changes. Store backups in multiple locations if possible. Label your backups with dates so you can identify which backup corresponds to which server state. Test your backup restoration process periodically to ensure backups are valid and usable.
