Creating and Using Custom Magic Particles

Setting Up Magic Particles

Magic Particles Mod is a server-side Fabric cosmetics mod, so everything is configured by administrators rather than installed by players. Custom effects are defined in JSON files, which keeps the process approachable even if you have not worked with mod configuration before.

Managing Particles In-Game

Use the /mp command to list all available magic particles. To apply one, run /mp set [id] with the identifier of the particle you want. /mp disable turns off the current effect, and /mp reload refreshes both the particle definitions and the mod's messages after you edit your JSON files.

Practical Uses

Because particles are data-driven, you can tailor visual effects for events, decorate specific areas, or give locations a magical feel. The JSON approach means changes take effect through a reload instead of restarting the server, making it easy to iterate on effects as you build them.
