How to Build a Garden Walkway with Macaw's Paths
Choosing the Right Blocks
Path blocks are the thinner, flatter variants in the mod. They are ideal for garden walkways because they sit low and blend with grass and dirt. The wiki lists path versions for acacia, bamboo, and birch planks, plus andesite and blackstone paths in flagstone, running bond, windmill weave, and crystal floor styles.
Laying Out the Walkway
Plan your route first with a few temporary blocks or torches. A gentle curve looks more natural than a straight line. Dig out or flatten the ground one block wide, then place your path blocks along the route. Wood plank paths suit cottage and forest builds; stone paths suit castles, ruins, and formal gardens.
Adding Detail
Border the walkway with slabs, fences, or flower pots to define it. Use a different pattern at intersections or near a gate to create a focal point. Mixing a flagstone path with a running bond patio gives the area a layered, hand-built feel.
Practical Tips
- Path blocks are thin, so they do not create a step you have to jump over.
- Use path blocks under trees and along fences where full blocks would look bulky.
- If you run out of one pattern, swap to a matching variant; the mod's patterns are designed to sit together.
