How to Get and Place Macaw's Paintings in Minecraft

Crafting the Painting Item

Macaw's Paintings does not add a separate painting item. You use the vanilla painting item exactly as before. Craft it with the standard recipe: place wool blocks in a ring around a central stick in a crafting table. Once crafted, you have a painting item ready to hang.

Placing and Cycling Through Designs

1. Hold the painting item and right-click a solid wall block. A painting appears in the largest free space available.

2. Right-click the placed painting again to cycle to the next design in the pool. Keep right-clicking to scroll through every available painting, including the new Macaw's designs mixed in with the vanilla ones.

3. If the painting is too large for the wall, break it and try a wall with more open space, or place it on a different surface.

Tips for Finding Specific Paintings

Because the mod adds its paintings to the existing pool rather than replacing vanilla ones, you may need to cycle many times before reaching a particular design. Place your painting on a wall with plenty of room so larger canvases can appear. If you want a specific size, clear a wall of that size first, then cycle until the painting you want fits. Breaking and replacing the painting resets the cycle, which can help if you get stuck on a design you do not want.
