Adjust Shadow Intensity for Your Build Style

Access Shader Settings

Open the shader options menu by pressing Right Shift (or your configured key) while in-game, then select Shader Options. Look for the Shadow or Lighting category.

Customize Shadow Depth

Locate the shadow intensity slider. Moving it higher creates darker, more defined shadows beneath blocks and terrain—ideal for dramatic builds and caves. Lower values produce softer, gentler shadows that work well for bright fantasy builds or when you want less contrast.

Fine-Tune for Your Scene

Test your changes in different lighting conditions:

  • Daytime: Shadows are most visible; adjust to match your desired mood
  • Underground: Lower shadow intensity prevents caves from becoming too dark
  • Building: Stronger shadows emphasize architectural details and depth

If your build relies on bright, cheerful colors, reduce shadow intensity slightly. For dramatic fantasy structures, increase it for more atmospheric depth. The shader recalculates in real-time, so you'll see changes immediately as you adjust the slider.

Save Your Preference

Once satisfied, your settings persist across sessions automatically.
