Adjust Water Reflections and Wave Intensity
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the key bound to shader settings (typically found in your controls menu). Look for the Water or Reflections category in the settings panel.
Customize Water Appearance
Locate sliders or toggles for:
- Wave Height: Controls how pronounced the moving wave patterns appear on water surfaces
- Reflection Strength: Adjusts how clearly the sky and surroundings reflect in water
- Wave Speed: Modifies how quickly the water surface animates
Lower values create calmer, clearer water suitable for building or taking screenshots. Higher values add more dynamic, realistic ocean-like movement.
Apply and Test
After adjusting, return to your world and navigate to a body of water to preview changes in real-time. Different water types (oceans, rivers, lakes) may respond differently depending on your settings. Fine-tune until the effect matches your preferred aesthetic—whether you want serene, mirror-like surfaces or turbulent, animated waves.
