Check if Iris Shaders are Active in Your Game

Why Check for Shaders?

Some mods and features behave differently depending on whether a shader pack is loaded. Luminance provides a way for mod developers to detect this, but you may also want to verify shader status yourself for troubleshooting or performance reasons.

How to Verify Shader Status

1. Open the Shader Settings screen — Press O (or your configured key) to open Iris Shaders options if Iris is installed.

2. Check the active shader pack — If a shader pack name appears and is not "(Internal)" or "None", shaders are active.

3. Look at visual indicators — Active shaders will show post-processing effects like bloom, motion blur, or color grading depending on the pack.

4. Check the debug screen — Press F3 to open the debug overlay. If shaders are running, you'll see shader-related information and potentially higher frame time values.

5. Test mod features — If a mod using Luminance has shader-dependent features, enable/disable your shader pack and observe changes.

If you're experiencing issues with shader-dependent mod features not working, verify that both Iris Shaders and Luminance are installed and that a shader pack is actually selected.
