Adjust Water Reflection Quality and Clarity
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu by pressing the designated shader settings key (default varies by launcher). Look for the Water or Reflections category in the settings panel.
Configure Reflection Parameters
Look for options controlling:
- Reflection Distance: Controls how far the water surface reflects the sky and terrain. Lower values reduce performance cost; higher values show more detailed reflections of distant objects.
- Wave Intensity: Adjusts the height and visibility of water ripples. Higher settings create more pronounced waves; lower settings produce calmer, flatter surfaces.
- Reflection Clarity: Some versions include a setting to sharpen or soften the reflected image. Increase clarity for crisp reflections or decrease it for softer, more atmospheric water.
Test Your Changes
Navigate to a large body of water—ocean, lake, or river—and observe how adjustments affect the appearance. Changes apply in real-time, so you can fine-tune until the water matches your preferred aesthetic. If performance drops significantly, reduce reflection distance or wave intensity.
Save Configuration
Once satisfied, exit the settings menu. Your preferences are automatically saved for future sessions.
