Understand When the Mod Activates and Switches Slots

Activation Threshold

The Low Durability Switcher Mod triggers when your currently held tool has less than 10 durability remaining. The exact moment varies depending on what action you're performing—mining, attacking, or using the tool.

What Happens During a Switch

When activation occurs, the mod automatically selects the next slot in your hotbar. If that slot is empty or also contains a low-durability tool, it continues cycling until it finds a usable item or runs out of slots.

Important Limitations

The mod only protects tools in your hotbar. Items in your inventory won't trigger the switch. You must actively hold or have access to the tool for the mechanic to work.

Slot cycling behavior: If you're on slot 9 (the last hotbar position) when a switch occurs, the mod will move you back toward slot 1. Plan your hotbar layout so your most-used tools are positioned logically.

No protection for already-broken tools: Once a tool reaches zero durability and breaks, the mod cannot recover it. The switch only prevents reaching that point.
