Optimize Performance on Low-End Hardware
Reduce Post-Processing Effects
Open shader settings and locate post-processing options. Disable or lower the intensity of effects like bloom, ambient occlusion, or color grading if your frame rate drops below your target. LoShades is designed to be lightweight, but these effects can be toggled for maximum performance.
Lower Fog Quality
Reduce fog density and distance settings. Simpler fog calculations free up GPU resources, allowing higher frame rates on older systems.
Check Your Game Settings
Ensure your Minecraft render distance is set appropriately for your hardware—typically 8-12 chunks for low-end machines. Pair this with LoShades' optimized rendering for best results.
Monitor Frame Rate
Use the FPS counter (F3 debug screen) to track performance. Adjust shader settings incrementally until you reach a stable, playable frame rate. LoShades should deliver hundreds of FPS even on modest hardware; if you're not seeing this, review your video driver and Java allocation.
