How to Find and Trade with Merchants

Locating Merchants

Merchants are scattered across different regions of Middle-earth. Check populated areas like villages, towns, and settlements in regions such as the Shire, Bree-land, Rivendell, and the Blue Mountains. Each region has merchants with different inventories, so explore thoroughly to find the traders you need.

Trading Process

Approach a merchant and right-click to open their trade interface. You'll see items they're willing to buy and sell. Merchants accept various currencies and goods depending on their type. Bring the items they want and exchange them for weapons, armor, tools, or other useful supplies.

Tips for Trading

Different merchants specialize in different goods—some focus on weapons and armor, others on building materials or food. Visit multiple merchants to compare prices and find the best deals. Trading is one of the most reliable ways to obtain rare items without crafting, especially early in your playthrough. Keep exploring new areas to discover merchants you haven't met yet, as over 35 different traders exist throughout the world.
