Understanding Item Physics in Your Inventory

How Item Physics Work

When you pick up an item with your cursor in any inventory screen, the mod applies realistic physics to it. Items no longer float statically—they swing, bounce, and sway as you move your mouse. Heavier blocks like stone or metal will appear to have more weight and momentum, while lighter items like feathers tilt and flutter more easily.

Observing the Effects

Open any inventory, chest, or storage container. Click and hold an item with your cursor. As you move your mouse around, watch how the item responds:

  • Swinging motion: Items lag slightly behind your cursor movement, creating a pendulum effect
  • Tilting: Objects rotate based on the direction and speed of your movement
  • Bounce behavior: Releasing and re-grabbing items shows brief bouncing animations
  • Visual weight: Denser blocks move more sluggishly than lightweight items

This effect applies to all items—tools, blocks, armor, and consumables. The physics simulate real-world inertia, making inventory management feel more tactile and responsive. Particle effects often accompany these movements, adding visual feedback to your interactions.
