Tuning Loot Amounts So Dungeons Stay Balanced

What the Amount Value Controls

Every integration entry has an amount (sometimes expressed as a number of rolls or a weight). This determines how much of the source table's loot gets injected into the target chest. A low amount means the borrowed items are a rare bonus; a high amount means they dominate the chest and can crowd out the structure's original loot.

Choosing Sensible Values

Start small. Add the integration with a modest amount, then test by opening several chests from the target structure. If the new items feel too rare to matter, raise the amount gradually. If chests start overflowing or the original dungeon loot disappears, lower it. Because different structures have different chest sizes, the same amount can feel very different across dungeons — tune each integration separately rather than using one value everywhere.

Avoiding Common Pitfalls

Do not set the amount so high that a single chest contains stacks of the injected items; that trivializes progression. Also avoid pointing many integrations at the same target table with large amounts, since the effects stack. Keep a note of which entries you changed so you can revert if a dungeon becomes unbalanced. After each change, reload the config and re-test before moving on to the next structure.
