Creating Farmland

Expand your island to create flat space for crops. You'll need water, dirt or farmland blocks, and seeds. Dig a small trench and place water in it—crops planted nearby will hydrate. Use a hoe on dirt blocks to convert them to farmland, then plant seeds from your starting chest or found in tall grass.

Sustainable Food Sources

Wheat is your first crop, but consider building a mob farm for meat production. Alternatively, breed animals (cows, pigs, chickens) by feeding them their preferred food. Enclosed pens prevent them from wandering into the ocean.

Expanding Your Farm

As your island grows, dedicate larger areas to different crops: wheat for bread, carrots and potatoes for variety, and sugar cane near water for additional resources. Organized farming makes harvesting and replanting efficient, freeing you to focus on other survival tasks.
