Build Defenses Against Mobs and Manage Spawning

Creating a Safe Base

Build walls around your main island to prevent mobs from spawning or wandering in during night. Walls should be at least two blocks high—mobs can't jump higher than this. Leave strategic gaps for you to move through, or use gates and doors.

Lighting Your Island

Mobs spawn in dark areas. Place torches, lanterns, or other light sources around your island, especially near your base and farms. Well-lit areas prevent hostile mobs from appearing, making nighttime safer.

Controlling Mob Spawning

If mobs keep appearing, check for dark caves or underground spaces on your island. Seal them or light them thoroughly. You can also build your base on elevated terrain—mobs have trouble pathfinding to high areas.

Preparing for Combat

Craft armor and weapons from materials you gather. Keep a sword and bow nearby for defending against mobs that do spawn. As you expand to other islands, bring armor with you since those areas may be more dangerous.
