Predators can smell players who fall below half health and will follow fresh blood trails to your location. Manage your health carefully during combat and retreat to safety before taking critical damage. Healing potions are essential for stealth gameplay.

Clean Up Blood Decals Immediately

If you do get wounded, use the brush tool to manually remove blood splatter from blocks around your position. Blood decals appear on solid ground after combat encounters and persist until cleaned or washed away naturally.

Use Rain and Water to Your Advantage

Heavy rain automatically washes away blood trails and scent markers over time. If you're bleeding and rain is falling, move through the downpour to mask your trail. Flowing water also cleanses blood, so crossing rivers or streams breaks the scent path predators follow.

Retreat to Safe Zones

When wounded, prioritize reaching areas away from predators—caves, enclosed structures, or high ground. Once safe and hidden, use healing items to restore health above the detection threshold before resuming stealth movement.
