Maximize Backstab Damage for Silent Eliminations
Position Yourself Behind Your Target
Approach unaware enemies from behind while crouching. Your target must not have detected you—no alert indicators should be visible. The 150-degree vision cone means mobs only see what's directly in front, making rear approaches safe if you move slowly.
Strike with a Melee Weapon
Once positioned directly behind the mob, attack with any melee weapon. Backstabs deal significantly increased damage compared to normal strikes, allowing you to eliminate threats silently without alerting nearby guards.
Stay Hidden During the Approach
Use tall grass, crops, and shadows to mask your movement. Avoid making noise by staying crouched and walking on wool blocks or through water. If you sprint or jump, nearby mobs will hear you and turn around, breaking your backstab opportunity.
Follow Up Quickly
After a successful backstab, immediately hide again or move away from the corpse. Other mobs may investigate if they detect the body or hear combat sounds. Use the confusion to slip past remaining guards or set up your next backstab.
