Escape Detection When Your Location Is Compromised
Break Line of Sight Immediately
When mobs know your last position, you have a short window to move before they search the area. Sprint away at an angle perpendicular to their line of sight—don't run straight ahead, as they'll predict your path.
Use Environmental Cover
Dive into tall grass, crops, or position yourself behind hanging banners. These blocks completely block the mob's vision cone, even if they're actively searching. Water is especially effective: enter a river or pond to muffle footsteps and break scent trails if you're bleeding.
Exploit Lighting Conditions
If it's daytime, move into caves or dark structures where day mobs struggle to see. At night, stay away from bright light sources like torches or lanterns that nocturnal mobs use to spot you. Darkness is your ally during night hunts.
Once hidden, remain crouched and still. Mobs will investigate your last known direction for a limited time before returning to patrol. Don't move until alert indicators disappear completely from nearby enemies. Patience is more valuable than distance.
