Configure what LogBlock records
Adjusting logging scope
LogBlock can log nearly everything, but you may want to reduce database load by excluding certain actions or block types that aren't important for your server.
Configuration options:
1. Open the LogBlock config file
2. Find the logging section and review what's currently enabled: block changes, entity spawning, container interactions, etc.
3. Disable logging for actions you don't need to track (for example, leaf decay or grass growth)
4. Set retention periods—decide how long to keep logs before they're automatically deleted
5. Configure which block types matter most to you
6. Reload with /lb reload
Performance considerations
Logging everything creates massive databases over time. Disabling unnecessary entries keeps queries fast and reduces storage needs. However, be cautious about disabling too much—you might need that data later for investigations. A good balance is logging all player actions and significant natural changes, while ignoring purely cosmetic or repetitive events. Test your configuration on a smaller server first to find the right balance for your needs.
