Fine-Tuning Individual Sound Categories for Better Balance

Accessing Sound Settings

Open Options → Sound Settings to see all available volume sliders. The mod applies logarithmic scaling to each category independently: Master Volume, Music, Weather, Block Sounds, Hostile Creatures, Neutral Creatures, Players, Ambient Sounds, and Voice/Chat.

Adjusting for Your Preferences

Because the logarithmic scale gives you better control at lower volumes, you can now make precise adjustments to individual sound categories without one dominating another.

Recommended approach:

  • Start with Master Volume at a comfortable level
  • Adjust Music slider if background music feels too loud or quiet relative to ambient sounds
  • Fine-tune Weather sounds if rain or thunder overwhelms other audio
  • Set Hostile and Neutral creature sounds to hear mob warnings clearly
  • Reduce Block Sounds if mining noise becomes fatiguing during long sessions

The logarithmic scale means you have more usable positions in the lower range, making it easier to find a balanced mix. Test each adjustment in-game—the difference between slider positions is now more perceptually uniform.
