How to Stop Log Cleaner From Deleting Logs You Still Need

The whole point of Log Cleaner is to remove files you no longer use, but sometimes you want to keep a specific log around for troubleshooting or record-keeping. There are a few ways to protect files.

Rely on Access Dates

Log Cleaner deletes based on the most recent access time of a file rather than when it was created. This means any log that is actively being read or written is treated as in-use and skipped. If you want to keep a log, simply opening or reading it refreshes its access time, which pushes it out of the deletion window. This is the intended safety mechanism and usually prevents accidental loss of logs tied to active worlds.

Excluding Folders and Files

If you have logs you want permanently protected, move them out of the directories the mod scans, or remove those directories from the config. The config lets you define which locations are cleaned, so narrowing that list is the most reliable way to keep certain files untouched. You can also raise the age threshold so only very old logs qualify for removal. After changing the config, restart the game. Test your setup by placing a throwaway log in a scanned folder and confirming it survives or is removed according to your rules.
