How to Check Whether Log Cleaner Is Actually Deleting Files

After installing Log Cleaner, many players want to confirm it is doing its job rather than silently doing nothing. Verifying behavior is straightforward.

Before and After Comparison

Note the contents and total size of your log folders, then let the game run long enough for a cleanup cycle to occur. Close the game and check the same folders again. Files that had not been accessed within your configured threshold should be gone, while recently accessed ones remain. Comparing the two snapshots tells you whether the mod is active and how aggressive your current settings are.

Adjusting If Nothing Happens

If no files are removed, the most common cause is that nothing has yet exceeded the age threshold, or the folders you are watching are not in the scan list. Lower the threshold or add the folder to the config, then restart. Remember the mod keys off access time, so a file you keep opening will never qualify. If files disappear that you wanted to keep, raise the threshold or remove that directory from the scan list. Iterating on the config this way lets you dial in exactly how much cleanup you want.
