Fixing the Oceans Pack When the Loading Screen Stays Default
If the ocean images never appear, the cause is almost always a load-order or mod-presence problem rather than a broken download. Work through these checks in order.
Check the Mod and Pack Order
- Confirm the Loading Backgrounds mod is actually in your
modsfolder and loads without errors. The Oceans pack does nothing on its own. - In Options > Resource Packs, ensure Oceans is in the enabled (right) column and positioned above any other loading-screen pack.
- Remove or disable other packs that touch the loading screen to rule out a conflict, then re-add them one at a time.
Refresh the Game State
1. Fully close Minecraft, not just the world.
2. Relaunch and watch the very first loading screen — that is where the pack applies.
3. If images still do not show, check the mod's own config or settings screen for an option that controls whether custom backgrounds are used, and make sure it is turned on.
If nothing changes after a clean restart with only the mod and this pack enabled, the pack version likely does not match your game version. Match the pack to your Minecraft version rather than editing files by hand.
