Reduce Frame Drops While Keeping Visual Quality
Understand the Performance Trade-off
Lively Magic Shaders is optimized for mid-range systems, but shadow quality and lighting calculations still demand resources. Frame drops usually come from shadow rendering or PBR material processing in complex scenes.
Adjust Shadow Settings
Look for shadow distance and shadow quality options in your shader settings menu. Reducing shadow distance (how far shadows render) is one of the fastest ways to gain frames without losing the eerie atmosphere. Shadows closer to the player will still be sharp and detailed.
Limit Complex Scenes
Avoid building in areas with extreme terrain variation or dense vegetation when possible. Open plains and flat underground bases render faster than mountainous biomes. If you must build in complex terrain, use simpler block palettes to reduce PBR material calculations.
Monitor in Crowded Areas
Test your frame rate in your main base or hub area where you spend the most time. If performance is acceptable there, you've found your balance. Use flat terrain or creative building techniques to minimize unnecessary visual complexity.
