Maximize Colored Lighting Effects in Your Build
Choose Light Sources Strategically
Colored lighting is most visible when you use varied light blocks. Torches, lanterns, and glow blocks each emit distinct colors under this shader. Place them intentionally to create mood zones—warm tones near inhabited areas, cooler or eerie tones in caves and dungeons.
Layer Your Lighting
Combine multiple light sources at different heights and distances. A single torch won't show dramatic color shifts, but clustering torches, lanterns, and glow blocks creates rich, overlapping colored shadows. This is especially effective in underground bases or fantasy structures.
Test in Different Times
Colored lighting interacts differently with ambient light. Visit your build at night, during sunrise, and in caves to see how the shader renders your light sources. Underground areas will show the most saturated colors since there's less competing daylight.
Pair with PBR Textures
If you're using PBR-compatible resource packs, the colored light will interact with surface materials more realistically. Shiny blocks like polished stone or metal will reflect colored light noticeably, enhancing the fantasy aesthetic.
