How to Configure Lithium Mod to Fix Mod Compatibility Issues
Lithium changes how Minecraft handles physics, mob AI, chunk loading, and redstone. Most of the time this is invisible, but occasionally another mod expects vanilla behavior and breaks. When that happens, you do not need to remove Lithium — you just need to turn off the specific optimization causing the conflict.
Finding and Editing the Config
After launching the game once with Lithium installed, a config file is generated in your instance's config folder. Open it with any text editor. The file is organized into sections that mirror the mod's optimization categories — physics, entity handling, chunk loading, mob AI, and redstone. Each entry has a toggle you can flip between enabled and disabled.
Narrowing Down the Culprit
Do not disable everything at once. Instead, identify the symptom first. If mobs behave strangely, look at the AI and entity sections. If redstone contraptions misfire, check the redstone section. If chunks pop in oddly or entities fall through blocks, look at physics and chunk loading. Disable one category at a time, restart the game, and test. Once you find the section that fixes the problem, you can often re-enable individual entries within it to keep most of the performance gain. Save the file and fully restart Minecraft — config changes are not applied to a running world.
