Monitor Your World's Compression Performance

Understanding Your Save Efficiency

Linear Reader Mod provides tools to see exactly how well your world files are being compressed and how fast your storage system is performing. Use these metrics to identify bottlenecks or confirm everything is running optimally.

Check Benchmark Data

1. Run the benchmark command in your server console or singleplayer chat:

`

/linearreader benchmark

`

2. Review the output, which shows:

  • Total write time across different compression formats
  • Total read times for region file operations
  • Write speed distribution during active gameplay
  • Read speed distribution across your save files

Interpret the Results

  • Lower write times indicate faster chunk saving during gameplay.
  • Lower read times mean quicker chunk loading when players explore.
  • Consistent latency graphs suggest stable storage performance.
  • Spikes in latency may indicate disk I/O bottlenecks or background processes competing for storage access.

Run benchmarks periodically to track performance changes as your world grows.
