Convert Your Linear World Back to Standard MCA Format
When You Might Need This
If you're switching to a different mod setup, troubleshooting compatibility issues, or need to share your world with players using vanilla Minecraft, you'll want to convert your Linear format region files back to standard MCA files.
Export Process
1. Stop your server or close your singleplayer world to ensure no files are being written during conversion.
2. Open the server console or chat and run:
`
/linearreader export-mca start
`
3.** The mod will process all Linear region files and write them as standard MCA format files. This may take several minutes depending on your world size.
4. Check your region folder (typically world/region/) to confirm MCA files are now present alongside or replacing Linear files.
5. Restart your server or world to load the converted files.
Important Notes
- Your original Linear files are preserved during export—the mod doesn't delete them automatically.
- After confirming the MCA files work correctly, you can manually delete the Linear format files to free up space.
- Conversion speed depends on your storage device and world complexity.
