How to Adjust Lighty Mod Brightness and Render Distance for Performance
If the Lighty overlay is hard to see, or if it hurts your framerate in big builds, the brightness and render distance settings are what you want to tune.
Adjusting Brightness
Open the settings with F7 and find the brightness option. Increasing it makes the overlay more visible against bright terrain, which helps in deserts, snow, or well-lit rooms. Decreasing it makes the overlay subtler so it does not distract while you build. Cycle through the values and close the menu to see the effect immediately.
Adjusting Render Distance
The render distance setting controls how far from the player the overlay is drawn. A large distance shows light levels across a wide area, which is useful for scanning a whole base at once but costs more performance. A small distance keeps the overlay close to you, which is lighter on your system and less visually noisy.
Performance Tips
- Lower render distance first if you notice stuttering while the overlay is on.
- Use F8 to toggle the overlay off during heavy building or combat.
- Keep brightness moderate; extreme values can make the overlay hard to read against certain blocks.
- Revisit F7 after changing your game's render distance, since the two settings interact.
